Clearly, I have not written in quite a while. I have simply been too busy. I don't think that will change, but I am hoping to post on a more regular schedule. My original goal for this blog was to post some musings, random thoughts and observations. Mainly some stuff on things I did not really understand or things that were interesting but not worth writing a whole article about. I was also hoping to generate some conversations on archaeology-related topics. Specifically, contract archaeology-related topics. And even more specifically, contract archaeology in the Northwest-related topics.
Interestingly, since starting AFTP, I have had some long, detailed conversations on some pretty great topics with regional archaeologists, but they have all occurred by email. While email is fine, I am not sure it’s the same as having those discussions posted to a blog. Emails get lost in the deluge and drift further down into outlook where they are forgotten for long periods of time until the conversation just peters out. Another problem is that with email, it’s harder for folks to jump into the conversation if they have not been following along or to include new people. I am also open to others writing post to jump start some conversations.
Anyway, I said I would restart this, so here it is.
